Dear IPT Player,

This email is to give you some updates on the IPT and a call for your help. Per one of Mr. Trudeau?s last emails, we are going to host a live streaming video event on December 19th, 2007, at 7pm (central). This event is a challenge match between Johnny Archer and Earl Strickland, which will air live, absolutely free, on the new IPT web site at www.internationalpooltour.com. Since you are a professional player, I don?t need to tell you who these two players are, or how fantastic their careers have been. They are going to play a race to fifteen at 8-ball, and I hope that you all tune in to support these two champions.

I would like to ask your help in promoting the event around the world. In the past few months, we have had great conversations with corporate executives of potential sponsors. Many of those conversations were positive and the IPT is on their radar for 2008 sponsorship. However, the major roadblock that we have is the perception that pool can?t deliver an audience big enough worthy of sponsorship. In their eyes, pool is a big risk and executives are hesitant to take that risk. This isn?t just a problem of the IPT- many other tours have the same problem. We all know that pool is the sport that nearly everyone plays, but yet when it comes to promoting an event, only the serious players tune in. In order for pool to make it, it needs to be delivered to the masses, which is what the potential sponsors want to see. So far, we have all failed to promote the game inside AND outside the industry.

Considering that we haven?t hosted an event in 2007, you can imagine that our web traffic has fallen off considerably. This is one of the most important factors to our potential sponsors. We basically need to demonstrate substantial web traffic in order to be seriously considered for sponsorship. I think at this point we all realize that for pool to move forward, there is going to have to be outside sponsorship and investment. For that to happen, we need to deliver an audience. And to deliver an audience, we need your help.

Here are some different ideas for promoting the event:

* Soon you will be receiving a printable flyer by email from me. It will be in a PDF format promoting the event. It would be very helpful if you would email that poster to everyone on your personal email lists. Remember, we need to promote pool to the outside world as well as the industry, so please send to friends, family, and associates. While it is important that we have viewers, it is equally important that we have people visiting the web site, so everyone counts.
* Your local billiard establishment is a great place to promote this event too. One idea is to print the flyer and deliver it to places that you frequent. Ask for them to make copies to hand out to their customers.
* Myspace, Facebook, etc., for those of you who have accounts on social networking sites like these, spreading the word this way is easy, cost-effective, and very quick.
* Web pages- in my next email to you with the flyer, I will also include some banner ads in different sizes and formats. If you maintain a web site or are friendly with someone who does, please place these promotional banners wherever available.
* Phone & Text- Texting your friends and colleagues is a great way to promote the event. Also, mention the event when you talk to people, even the people who you don?t think would be interested in pool. Maybe someone in their family is interested in the game, or they may like to watch something new and different, especially since it?s free!
* Leagues- if you know someone who operates a league, ask them to email their players with the promotional flyer.

The IPT staff will be busy the next two weeks doing everything on this list and more. I know that this email raises a lot of questions for you. Is the IPT back on its feet? Will there be more tournaments? When? The answer is that I don't know. Here is what I do know- this live match is important. I would like to see this broadcast be successful so that we have something solid to show to potential sponsors who are asking whether or not pool can deliver an audience. Between us all, our reach is global and we can have the word out to hundreds of thousands of people in a few days. Your help is truly appreciated.

Best regards,

Deno Andrews

Onkohan se ilmainen ?
Huomasin itsekkin "sattumalta" saman asian
